

Danny Simpson went to be with The Lord February 2, 2025, at the age of 63. He was born in Winston-Salem May 14, 1961. Danny has lived in High Point most of his life. He lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Plantation Florida before returning to High Point. Danny was with his wife Linda Holland Simpson for 43 years (35 married).
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher and wife April of Jamestown NC; two brothers, James Simpson (Gail) of Thomasville, NC and Jeff Simpson of Virginia; sister-in-law, Barbara Moody (Paul) of Massachusetts; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He especially adored Kyleigh and Mitchell Woods who he was blessed to see regularly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Vance Simpson, and his siblings, Randy, Terry and Diane; and his in-laws, Vincent and Dorothy Holland.
Danny graduated from high school at Western Guilford. He attended Western Carolina then transferred and graduated from St Andrews in Laurinburg. He took graduate courses from Guilford, Phoenix, and Liberty Universities. He worked at Pacesetter, APAC and American Express. Danny retired from Amex after 17 years after working in Greensboro and Fort Lauderdale as a Project Analyst. Post retirement, he started a construction /remodeling business with his brother, Jimmy. His volunteer work included serving on the boards of foster and adoption organizations as well as church activities.
Danny was a Deacon and an Elder of several churches. He was currently a member of First Christian Church in High Point. Danny enjoyed traveling especially to Disney Vacation Club in Florida and Hilton Head and Daytona Beach. He also enjoyed visiting new places and cruising over the years. Danny loved watching sports, especially UNC basketball, Carolina Panthers football and NASCAR. People are encouraged to wear Carolina blue to his Celebration of Life.
Danny had numerous hospital admissions and medical issues over the years and was nicknamed the fighter. He always kept his positive attitude and he and Linda felt blessed with each day the Lord allowed him to continue living on this earth before heading to heaven.
A Celebration of Danny’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at First Christian Church of High Point. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., at the church. Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel has the honor of assisting the Simpson family.
