David Wesley Purgason

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Apples Chapel Christian Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

David was born October 31, 1993. He was a junior at Northeast Guilford High School and a member of the JROTC.

David is survived by his parents, Donald and Kathy Purgason, brothers, Jonathan Purgason, Jonathan Brande, paternal grandmother, Barbara Purgason, maternal grandparents, Margaret R. and Tal Yates, great-grandmother, Pauline Purgason. Included in his circle of family who will truly miss David are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ronald Purgason and William R. Ratliff.

Though our hearts mourn this tragic loss, our souls rejoice over your all too brief time with us. Into the hands of our Lord and Savior, Psalm 23.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the church and other times at the home of Rick and Darlene Cook, 7823 NC 150 E, Browns Summit.

The family invites David’s classmates to attend a candlelight vigil that will be held at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Micaela Cook, 7823 NC 150 E, Browns Summit.
