Deborah “Debbie” Jane Compton Libassi, 66, a resident of Pleasant Garden passed away at her home on Thursday April 13, 2017. Debbie was born June 6, 1950 in Bluefield West Virginia, the daughter of Clarence W. and Ruth Blanton Compton.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Anthony Libassi, parents, a son, Jeffrey A. Pritchett and her brother, Randal E. Compton.
Debbie received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bluefield State College and a Master’s Degree in Reading Education from West Virginia. She taught in several Guilford County Schools and retired as a Curriculum Facilitator with the Academy at Lincoln and Southwest Middle School. She was a lifelong member of the NEA. Debbie's dedication to her job was surpassed only by her love for her children
She is survived by her son, Jeremy W. Pritchett; sister-in-law, Delores Compton and nephew, Kevin Compton.
A Celebration of Life Service for Debbie will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Hanes- Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel at 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC conducted by the Reverend Eugene Dean. There will be a receiving of friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Her remains have been cremated per her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Debbie's memory to your local Humane Society or favorite charity.
