

Reverend Dewey Chase Price, Jr., 85, a resident of Greensboro, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at Wesley Long Hospital. He was born December 22, 1928 in Rockingham County, the son of Dewey Chase Price, Sr. and Ethel Rakestraw Price.
Reverend Price was a graduate of Wake Forest University and the Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
Reverend Price began his ministry at Winns Creek Baptist Church in Halifax, VA, later serving as minister at Camp Herman Baptist Church in Greensboro, Piney Grove Baptist Church in Newton, and Mills Springs Baptist Church in Mills Springs. He was a member of Guilford Baptist Church in Greensboro.
Reverend Price was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul and Calvin Price.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Atkins Price; one daughter, Brenda Price Scott and husband, Keith of Wake Forest; one son, Reverend Dewey Wesley Price and wife, Sheila of Franklin; two brothers, George Price and wife, Betty of Ocean Isle, Hampton Price and wife, Opal of Martinsville, VA; granddaughters, Becky Price of Ashville, Jennifer Joyner of Concord, Dorothy Kimel-Scott of Providence, RI, and grandsons, Phillip Scott of Durham, Adam Scott of Dubai and Rick Scott of Winston-Salem; great grandchildren, Alex Rose and Alyssa DeBusman of Concord.
A Service to Celebrate Reverend Price’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by his son, Reverend Dewey Wesley Price and Reverend J.R. Gossett. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
