

Mr. Douglas Irving Green, 86, a resident of Greensboro died Sunday March 18, 2012 at Wesley Long Hospital. Mr. Green was born September 28, 1925 in Newburgh, NY, the son of Richard H. Mills and Gladys M. Green. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Green was employed for over 40 years with AT&T before retiring. He was a member of St. Pius The Tenth Catholic Church.
On December 10, 1948 he was married to the former Dorothy Swaney who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife Dorothy S. Green are one daughter, Kelly Green Rush and husband William of Greensboro; four sons, Dr. Mark Douglas Green and wife Allister of Cortlandt Manor, NY, Michael Scott Green and wife Susan of Reidsville, Gary Steven Green of Hamilton, GA, Christopher David Green of Greensboro; one brother, Frank William Faerber and wife Pat of Riverview, FL and four grandchildren, Heather Marie Rush, William Charles Rush, Jr., Matthew Taylor Rush and Blair Ashley Green.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel with Deacon Ron Steinkamp officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
