Born on December 2, 1959, Ed's personality was one that etched memories in every person that knew him. He was an astounding cook that left his family and friends heaping with laughter. Also known for his unwavering sense of humor, he was a man of faith and wisdom. His mind was fascinatingly meticulous. Dedicating his life to iron work, he built a foundation of hard work, honesty, loyalty, and his steadfast love for his children: His Four Stars.
While Ed has been lifted to be with his father, Edward Thomas Bates Sr., he is survived by his mother, Nancy Buchanan, as well as his siblings; Jim, Joey, and Jennifer Buchanan. Ed’s four children, Ed, Linda, Misty, and Jessica Bates also remain. He will be missed with much greatness by his loving grandchildren who truly looked to him as a role model.
