Ann was born on October 7, 1950, the daughter of Paul R. and Dorothy Minter Thornton, Sr. in Rockingham County, NC. She worked as a sales associate with Kmart. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She will be deeply missed.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Violet Fain Finley. Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Dustin Lief Key and wife Alisha of Greensboro; life partner, Kenny Shue of Greensboro; step-mother, Marlene Thornton of Greensboro; sisters, Linda Stone of Greensboro, Nell Thornton Waldon of Martinsville, VA; brother, Paul Russell Thornton, Jr. and wife Iris of Eden, NC; granddaughters, Jaden Key and Wanda Bell, and best friend, Faye Dalton.
Services to celebrate Ann’s life will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel and at other times at the home of her sister, Linda Stone.
