Mr. Elmer "Ray" Burnside Jr.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Northside Baptist Church, with Reverend Thomas G. Brown and Reverend Steve Walsh officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Born in Guilford County, Ray was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, who loved nothing more than his family. He worked as a mechanic for C&J Auto, loved the great outdoors, adored animals, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Ray Burnside, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Judy Moore Burnside, of the home; daughter, Kate of Sanford; son, Kevin of the home; mother, Sarah Burnside; sisters, Ann Butler and husband Larry and Kay Lynch; one niece; five nephews; two great-nieces; and four great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, and other times at the home.
