Eloise Cable

Eloise (Belle) Cable, age 88, a lifelong resident of Greensboro, NC passed away in Hospice Place in Burlington, on August 5, 2025. Belle left behind two beloved grandchildren, Eden Justad (Cole) of Durham, NC and Brendan Garner of Oak Island, NC along with son Ben Garner (Meissa) of Oak Island. In addition, she is survived by great- grandson Avery Justad along with numerous friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by husband Robert Cable, parents Harriet McClamrock and B.L. Shoe, sister Willory Shoe, and daughter Cynthia Garner.

Belle was a career lab technician until her retirement, which she spent travelling with her grandchildren, gardening, watching old movies, visiting with friends and spoiling her cats. She enjoyed country music, dancing and beautiful flowers. She was an excellent cook and made a mean cheesecake and chicken cacciatore. She had an outgoing and lively personality and loved giving to others.

The family would like to thank her neighbors Nancy, the Seawells, Brad and especially Krista who became a caring nurse as well as friend, for all their many kindnesses to her. We would also like to express gratitude to the staff of Oak St. Health, especially their driver Robin, who became a dear friend, as well as the staff of Adams Farm Rehab facility and AuthoraCare Hospice of Greensboro, all of whom made her final days brighter.

There will be an informal gathering for family and friends Friday, August 22, 2:00 pm at Advantage Funeral Home, 1900 Vanstory St., Greensboro, NC, 27403. All are encouraged to share fond memories there. The family will be present from 1:00 on to visit with friends prior to service.
