Mrs. Ethel C. Smith

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born in Bennettesville, SC, to the late Fred and Penny Caulder, Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She loved going shopping, visiting friends and family as often as possible, and enjoyed taking trips to the beach. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Jesse J. Smith, Jr., and a daughter, Cynthia Carol Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Wanda Sue Strickland of Greensboro, Rita Faye Brandon and husband Jon of Randleman, Theresa Lynn Pederson of Whitsett, Jerry Wayne Smith and wife Micki of Randleman, Debbie Jean Bullman and husband Bill of Pennsylvania, and Johnny Alan Smith and wife Lisa of Pleasant Garden; grandchildren, Jamie Strickland, Susan Strickland, Amy McIntosh, Dan McIntosh, Kara Smith, Bradley Bullman, Caitlin Bullman, Maegan Smith, and Kellie Smith; and great-grandchildren, Victoria, Austin, Katheryn, and Peyton.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Wanda Strickland, 4608 Millpoint Rd., Greensboro, NC 27406.
