He was born George Anthony Jones, but to his family and friends he was known as Kit. He came into this world on April 24, 1973 and he went home to be with his Lord on October 18, 2022. Kit was the son of Wanda LaPrade Jones and the late Luther Wayne "Captain" Jones.
Many who knew Kit knew his love for motorcycles and eighteen wheelers. He was a mixture of Smokey and the Bandit, Convoy and Easy Rider. He had a heart of gold and gave the biggest hugs. Kit was the kind of person that was there when you needed him and there when you didn't. He was a son, a brother, a father, a husband, a friend, and a follower of God. Along with his love of guns and knives, Kit also loved Christmas. Just like his dad, Kit loved to decorate for the holidays, leaving nothing untouched. The final results were stunning and he loved that it brought people joy, just like his dad.
If you never watched the movies Jaws and Tombstone, it was best not to do so with Kit because he would quote every line, word for word, from both movies. Those two were his favorite movies and he made sure you knew that. If you knew Kit, you also would know that he loved to cook and he loved being outdoors. He appreciated the beauty of life and love and in return, Kit was loved more than he will ever know. His passing has left a giant hole in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered as a wonderful person who shared his knowledge, his wisdom, his support and his heart.
In addition to his father, Kit is preceded in death by his loving grandparents, his father-in-law, Hank Linder and Uncles, Jerry Thornburg and Keith Lewis.
Kit is survived by his mother, Wanda Jones; Wife, Buffie Jones and his son, Austin Jones; Fiance, Anjie Greeson and her son, Chris Greeson and his wife Amber Greeson; Sister, Angelia Horm and her husband Jeff Horm and their children, Katie and Justin Horm; Aunt, Toni Thornburg; Brother, Tommy Jones and his wife Sandy Jones and their children, Luke and Jessica Jones. Kit is also survived by his brothers from another mother, Dennis, Nick, JC, Carl, Brandon, Nate, Jake, Cliff "CM", Kevin, Redd and Big Scott along with many other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, October 24th at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday prior to the service. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
