

Gregory Warren Oakley passed from this world to be with his parents, Calvin and Christine Oakley, his oldest brother, Charles “Chuck” Oakley, nephew, Charles “Charlie” Oakley Jr, and beloved dog, “Kozmo”, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He was born April 29, 1958 in Mebane, NC as the youngest of three sons to Calvin and Christine Oakley. He graduated from UNC- Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in business, where he went on to work in pharmaceutical sales for the duration of his career.
He loved his family and friends and would frequently call or text to check in. He was a huge sports fan, especially golf and Tarheel football and basketball. He was a skilled golfer himself, hovering around “scratch golf” level talent. He would play golf any chance he could get. He especially enjoyed annual golf trips with his buddies.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lauren Arnold (Mark) of Greensboro and Erinn Oakley (TJ) of Pinehurst; three grandchildren, Hannah, Abbey, and Ezra, all of Greensboro; brother, Dan Oakley (Denise) of Raleigh; sister-in-law, Annie Oakley; nephew, Mike Oakley (Angela); great-nephew, Joseph Oakley; great-niece, Caroline Oakley all of Greensboro.
He will be remembered by his outgoing personality and infectious sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice or to Alzheimer’s Association, ALS Association, or National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
