Dear Jewell, You are such a dear cousin of my late Mom, Pearl Altman Green. She adored you and Ken. My Dad, Frank, sends his thoughts and prayers to you. He is still living alone in Waycross far away from me. I am in South Carolina. But, we will both pray for you and your children, dear grands and great grands. I know you all will miss Ken, but cling to the words of the scriptures that bring you comfort the most and know that Ken and Mama are enjoying praising Jesus on a new higher level and preparing the place for us to come later on.

Dearest Aunt Jewel and family, I was saddened by the news of Ken's passing. I have the fondest memories of him and the good things he did for his entire family. The times he, my father and I spent playing golf or shooting pool will always be a special memory for me. A wonderful smile, a kind word and always a model of the highest integrity; these are the gifts he leaves behind for us to treasure. May you find peace in the days ahead.

Dearest Jewell and Family,

Ken was one of my favorite people.  He had such a great sense of humor and always laughed at my jokes.  I can see him now sitting in the great room at Gideon Ridge Inn with his eyes closed and tears running down his cheeks as I re-told one of his favorite jokes.  I had hardly gotten started on it when he reacted that way.  And our games of pool in the game room - what fun we had!  It will never be the same without you and Ken there to make our visit so enjoyable.  When Lou Ann and I go back to GRI in October I am sure that many a tear will be shed as we relive the fond memories we have of you and Ken.  

My heart is heavy at the loss of my dear friend.  What a man of God he was, and what an inspiration he was to me and many, many others.  

I love the picture of Ken posted here and in his obituary - with the sweet smile on his face that I remember so well.  

May the Good Lord bless you, Jewell, and your family with His peace and comfort.  Lou Ann and I will be praying for you and your family.  

While we cannot be at Ken's funeral in person, we will be there in spirit.

I was lucky to meet your husband thru John Willet's Bible Study....he always spoke so endearing of you. Ken was such and inspiration and a wonderful man with such strong Christian faith he always lived....may God rest his soul and give peace to your family .

My dear Jewell, I was in the midst of writing a message, but it disappeared. (I'm having computer problems.)
I was deeply saddened to learn of Ken's death. All who knew him have lost a treasure. He was a dear servant of the Lord and will be greatly missed. (I have missed seeing  you both at Westover.) I pray for comfort and encouragement for you and all your family. With love and blessings, Betty Taylor

Jewell, Pat, Brenda, Glenn & Byron,
It seems almost impossible to believe that it has been some 30+ years since we all went to Florida Street Baptist Church together. I can remember how our familes had many adventures together. The one that stands out the most is when we all went on vacation in the mountains and Dad (Herb) fell down that waterfall and none of us could see what had happened to him. But Thank God he came walking up the hill and he was okay. We all just burst into uncontrollable laughter after seeing he was okay. I also remember the groups of families that would show up to someone's home in the early AM wth the groceries to cook breakfast for everyone and fellowship.
Dad has been in Heaven for 8 years and there is never a day that goes by I don't think about him. It is time for you all to grieve your loss but very soon you will see in your mind Ken, walking the streets of gold. I know Dad was there to welcome him! Hold onto God he will get you through these dark days.

OUR MEMORIES GO WAY BACK,JEWEL AND I CAN STILL REMEMBER SOME OF THOSE HAPPY DAYS.  
I'M SURE KEN IS IN A FAR BETTER PLACE,BUT I KNOW HE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY.

I met you only once at Uncle Ed's funeral.  You and Aunt Jewel left an indelible loving impression on my heart.  You were a great disciple for Christ and your family's spiritual patriarch.  I look forward to sharing glory with you and our Savior.  God promises never to forsake us, and I pray that He will gingerly and lovingly sustain Aunt Jewel.

In honor of your life well lived... and well loved. So blessed to have been your niece. Your influence on my life changed where I will spend eternity... and I look forward to seeing you there once more. With all my love,
