

Harry Dennis Shoemaker, 64, was embraced by our Lord on October 23, 2021 at Cone Hospital after a brief illness. Harry was born June 19, 1957 in Guilford County to Grace Butler Shoemaker and the late Neal Dennis Shoemaker.
Harry participated in the “Special Olympics” and won over 200 medals. His most covenant was the Gold Medal he won at the World Special Olympics in bowling. He lived his life to the fullest and to have known him was a gift.
He loved his uncle Bobby and enjoyed time with him on their special outings. He enjoyed the beach, and loved Halloween when he would dress up in his favorite costume character “Spider Man”. Harry loved his family and he got so excited when family gathered at his house for holidays and birthdays. His favorite holidays was Christmas or his birthday as he was the center of attention and we would all enjoy his excitement of opening his gifts.
Harry is survived by his mother, Grace Shoemaker of Greensboro; his brothers, James Thomas “Tom” Shoemaker and his wife Sandy of Kernersville, Richard “Dick” Neal Shoemaker and his wife Kathie of Oak Ridge along with many nieces and nephews.
Harry attended Lindley Park Baptist Church and enjoyed greeting other church members on Sunday mornings. He was part of their Joy Class and was loved by all that knew him.
He was our “Special Angel”, our gift and will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel 6000 West Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27407 Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
