Hazel was born in Rockingham, NC to the late George Wallace and Jennie Reynolds. She worked for more than forty years as a nursing aide at Smith House. She fellowshipped at Believers Missionary Baptist Church and loved gospel music. Hazel lived a full life and had a heart of gold; she would help anyone if she had it to give. She LOVED her family and people dearly. She was definitely a “Virtuous Woman.”
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of sixty-two years, James Manuel Pharr. Hazel leaves to mourn, her children, Angela Odums Rogers (Junius) of Fayetteville, NC, Monica Pharr Clark of Durham, NC and Jennifer Pharr-Andrews of Greensboro, NC; ten grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two aunts, Edna Bostick and Mary Helen Covington; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
