

The family will receive friends Sunday, 6:30 pm at the Dormition of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church. A short Trisagion prayer service will begin at 7 PM. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday at the Greek Orthodox Church with internment following at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Helen was a native of Fairfield, CT and the daughter of Maria Zerva and James Georgis. She was a life long member of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Daughters of Penelope and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Her Orthodox Faith and family were the center of her life. Helen spent most of her time supporting the activities of her church, as well as preparing many pans of Greek delicacies for the Greek Food Festivals. In addition, she worked at Guilford College in the Admissions Office, enjoyed working the polls during elections, played tennis, and bowled. She and her husband were original members of Hamilton Lakes Swim and Tennis Club.
Helen was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Maria Georgis, husband, Stephen James Bartis, Sr. and brother, Nicholas Georgis.
Helen is survived by: Sister, Estelle Silos; Son; Stephen J Bartis, Jr (Pat) of Gibsonville, NC; Daughters; Barbara B. Vaughan (Bill) of Greensboro NC, and Connie Bartis (Rock Ward) of Whitsett NC, Grandchildren; Zack and Zoe Vaughan, Jeffery Martin (Nancy), Wendy Martin Perry; numerous nieces and nephews; and Great Grandchildren Addison and Preston Martin.

Much gratitude to the amazing angels who helped us provide loving care to Helen over the past few years: Janet McCall, Sarah Wagner, Pam Overby, Lillian Carr, Mary Calvin, Thelma Smith, and Dorothy Lattimore.
