Howard Mitchell Sorkin, 52, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 12:00 noon at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel with Rabbi Eliezer Havivi officiating. Burial will follow in the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery.
Howard was born on Jan. 23, 1959, the son of Daniel and Elaine Morganstein Sorkin, in Queens, NY. He was a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology. He was employed with the Polo Company for the last 23 years. Howard was a dedicated employee and was known for his dry sense of humor. He played hockey as a young man and coached the Pee Wee hockey team in Oyster Bay, NY, a team his father had started.
Howard was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elaine. Surviving are his loving wife, Barbara and daughter Stephanie Brooke of the home; father, Danny Sorkin of Del Ray Beach, FL and sister, Shelly Schick and husband Bernie of Kinnellon, NJ.
