

Mr. Walker was born on June 24, 1922, in Konowa, OK. Mr. Walker had a distinguished military career as a navigator on a B17 in World War II and served in the military theatre out of Nuthampstead, England. He was a member of the 398th Bomb Group in the 8th Air Force. After the war, he served in the radar and communication field until he retired in 1969. He was stationed in Japan, Morocco, France, England and Alaska. He was a member of Wolf Island Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Doris (Thad), he is survived by his son, Larry Walker and his wife Andrea, one granddaughter, Sarah and her husband, Justin and one great-granddaughter, Eden Marie all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two step-daughters, Teri K. Sparrow and her husband John of Youngsville, NC; Cheryl Kendrick and her husband Mark Campbell of Greensboro; two sisters, Pauline Locke and Sue Brandes, and her husband Hank all of Colorado.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Williamsburg Primitive Baptist Church in the Williamsburg Community, Rockingham County, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, at the church. Interment will be at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Road, Greensboro, NC.
