A celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church. After the service, the family will greet guests in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a private burial at Westminster Gardens.
Isabel was born in Roberdale, NC , daughter of Esther Johnson Patrick and Robert Love Patrick. She and her husband Bob, made their home in Greensboro where they raised two daughters, Jane and Nancy.
Isabel found no greater joy than caring for her family. She was a fabulous cook and was well-known for her delicious pound cakes. She also loved growing, canning and freezing fruits and vegetables, something she and Bob did together for many years. While she spent most of her life as a homemaker, at age 65, Isabel took a part-time job at Greetings Galore, later known as Micki’s Hallmark Shop in Friendly Shopping Center. A prolific “card sender” herself, Isabel thoroughly enjoyed her work and the many friends she made. However, her grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and joy. She knew just how to make each of them feel cherished and adored.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Lambeth Daniel, her brother, Thomas Patrick, and her daughter Nancy Daniel Meredith.
She is survived by her daughter Jane Daniel Gibson and her husband, Paul; grandchildren, Elizabeth Shay Gibson, (Kelli Powell); Sara Jane Gibson; Mary Catherine Meredith Ballard, Michael Meredith and Heather Meredith.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
The family wishes to thank Isabel’s devoted caregivers, Pat Cambareri, Betty Micca, Thelma Duke, Andrea Huntley , Dianne Ray and Nancy Peeden who enabled Isabel to live at home with Jane and Paul for four years. Special thanks also to Cathy Propst at Guilford Medical Supply and to the Hospice team.
