Jacqueline R. "Jackie" Creed

Our Mom, Jacqueline R. “Jackie” Creed, died peacefully on December 7, 2021, at Wellspring. Mom grew up in Greensboro, the daughter of Lawrence and Frances Routh. She graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and Woman’s College where she received a degree in early childhood education. While teaching kindergarten in Fayetteville, NC, she met Dad on a blind date. They married and eventually settled in Greensboro and became parents to Deedie, Andy, and Drew.

Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling. They toured much of the United States and took trips abroad, leaving us home with the grandparents!! However, family vacations were always fun and an important part of our lives. Whether we were at the beach, the Caribbean, or on trips to our grandparents’ “Up Home” mountain house, we always had fun together.

Mom was an active member of First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school, Bible studies and served on numerous committees. Mom also enjoyed her volunteer work at Greensboro Urban Ministries for over fifteen years. She was an avid reader and loved her Kindle.

Mom and her sister embarked on an adventure and opened a boutique in Greensboro, O! Expressions. For ten plus years they loved helping their customers find unique and stylish clothing, jewelry, and accessories.

Most importantly, our Mom loved us! She was our rock, our confidant, our biggest supporter, and the glue that held our family together. There are simply no words to describe the love and devotion that she shared with her family and friends.

Mom will be reunited with her parents, beloved husband, AB, son Andy and her sweet sister Betty Trosper. Drew (Ana) and I, her precious grandchildren Ana Maria and Andrew, her loving sister Katherine Poole (Buddy), and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews will dearly miss her.

We would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Wellspring for the wonderful care and support they have given not only to Mom but to us. We love all of you!

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on December 13, 2021, at 2:00 pm.
