James E. Nelson, Jr., 82, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg, NC. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 28th at 2:00 pm at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro, NC.
James was born in Guilford County, NC on January 24, 1929, the son of James E. Nelson Sr. and Vessie Cox Nelson. He was employed for 37 years with Piedmont Airlines in the maintenance division. He loved to work with wood and crafts. He and his wife Lorese traveled to craft shows showing their works together. James was of the Baptist faith. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Lorese Washburn Nelson of the home; sons; James E. Nelson III, Dan Nelson and wife Cyndy of Virginia Beach, VA, and Tim Nelson and wife Chris of Mocksville, NC. Four grandchildren also survive; Christopher Nelson, David Nelson, Rayna Nelson, and Robert Nelson.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Monday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
