

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel with The Rev. A.C. Brock and The Rev. Dr. Angela Marlowe officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bowman was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Woman. Mrs. Bowman was co-owner of Oakmere Farm along with her late husband Vestal. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies were gardening, and in later years, painting. She was an excellent cook and was especially known for her chocolate pies. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband Vestal; her parents, Strawdy and Mintoria Mabe; brother, Marvin Mabe; sister, Gladys McCormick; and sister-in-law, Betty Mabe.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Robbins and husband Willis of Lexington; sons; Donald Bowman and wife Kay and Kelly Bowman and wife Betty all of Brown Summit; sisters, Lucille Bowman of Greensboro, Faye Burke and husband Dan of Bear Creek, and Linda Cable and husband George of Greensboro; brothers, James “Pete” Mabe and wife Elaine and Ray Mabe all of Brown Summit; sister-in-law, Berlie Mabe of Walkertown; grandchildren, Lorie Loman, Lynette Anderson, Matt Bowman, Amy Jumpe, Neal Bowman, and Katie Smith and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Mrs. Bowman’s caregivers: Ramona Rondo, Tinisha Alford, Natasha Alford, and Vonda Wallace.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm Tuesday evening, August 25, 2015 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel in Greensboro.
