Mrs. Juanita S. Tarkenton, age 80, of Maryville, TN, formerly of Greensboro, N.C., passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care Center. Juanita was born in Danville, Va., to Willie and Bertha Stanfield. Her long-time employers were Woolworth and Wrangler. She was a long-time member of Eller Memorial Baptist Church in Greensboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Benditz (John) of Louisville; grandsons, Nathan Benditz of Knoxville, and Benjamin Benditz (Michelle) of Maryville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Eller Baptist Church in Greensboro, N.C., with the funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Committal services will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm St. is assisting the family.
