John was a graduate of High Point Central High School. He was a construction contractor and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Glidewell of the home; two daughters, Sandy Sandel, Wendy Vogler; two sons, Brian Glidewell, Scott Glidewell and several grandchildren.
John will be buried in Guilford Memorial Park with Military Honors. Private family services will be held.
