Joseph Warren "J.W." Ritter Sr.

A private graveside service will be held at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. Friends are welcome to pay their respects at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street.

J.W. was born July 19, 1926, in Guilford County, NC to the late Joseph Lennie and Eva Langley Ritter. He proudly served his country while in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for the United States Post Office where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Proximity United Methodist Church as well as many organizations including the Revolution Lodge 552, American Legion Post 386, Oasis Shriners, Greensboro Shrine Club and the Elks Lodge 602.

J.W. is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Eunice Ritter; children, Jo Marie Fuller and husband Rick, Joseph Warren Ritter, Jr. and wife Judy; grandchildren, Dawn Anderson and husband Jim, Jason Ritter, Angie Barlowe and husband Deckster, Patti Jackson and husband Garrett and eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or to the charity of one’s choice.
