

Julian was born May 10, 1942 in Laurens, SC to the late Clarence D. and Mildred C. Bowman. He graduated from Sumner High School and had several degrees from community college throughout the state. Julian worked in law enforcement for thirteen years before joining Proctor and Gamble and retiring with twenty-seven years of services.
He enjoyed camping with his family and friends, landscape photography, painting and working on cars and lawn mowers.
Julian Bowman is survived by his wife Kaye; his sons, Mark Bowman (Kathy) and Matt Bowman (Katherine); step-daughters, Kathy Rickman (Jeffrey) and Pam Dobert. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Amber, Mark Rhyan, Noah, Tucker, and Jake Bowman; three step-grandsons, Chase Dobert, Jessie and Will Rickman; two great-grandchildren, Cammi and Evan; two sisters, Linda Thacker (Darrell) and Nancy Powell (Rodney); and numerous extended family members. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially Todd and Patty Hughes.
A celebration of Julian’s life will be held with a visitation at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on High Point Road between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011. In keeping with Julian’s life, come casual; no suit and tie.
