June Roosevelt Currie

June was the eldest of three children born to the late Jack and Cora Lee Currie on June 8, 1935.

June married Lula Mae Simmons with whom he shared four beloved children: Hazel, Anthony, Rita and Shelly.

In 1994, he married Molly Allen and became a loving stepfather to Gail, Charles, Varinda, Tanya, Scott, and Steven.

June joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Orange, NJ, where he served as a Trustee and was a proud member of the Male Chorus.

After relocating back to North Carolina, he continued his faith journey at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC, participating in the Male Chorus and contributing to the Sunday School program. His commitment to his faith and church communities was a cornerstone of his life, and he served with devotion and joy.

For many years, June worked as a dedicated Field Supervisor for Frank M. Leo Associates, bringing commitment and skill to his role.

In his earlier years, June loved family gatherings, taking great joy in spending time with his loved ones. He was proud of his home and enjoyed taking care of it. His beloved dog, Jet, was his faithful companion and brought him constant joy.

Surviving to cherish June’s precious memory is, his wife Molly Currie, his sister Ruth Taylor, nine incredible children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a Homegoing Service Wednesday November 13, 2024 from 11 AM - 1 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service.
