On June 28, 2023, Karen Y. Javois-Gibson passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was born September 7, 1963 in Marigot, Saint Martin, in the Caribbean to Louis and Dorothy Javois. Karen was the proud mother of four children and one grandson. Despite her large family Karen always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Bernard worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. She would proudly boast about all her children.
Karen was predeceased by her father Louis F. Javois, father-in-law Bernard A. Gibson I, mother-in-law Doris Barbel, and brother-in-law Wesley B. Gibson. She is survived by her mother, husband, her kids Randy Javois (April Javois), Edna Gibson, Monica Shelton (Alex Shelton), Kimberly Gibson, Blake A. Gibson(grandson); siblings Laurent Javois (Bethany Johnson-Javois), Rose Murie Javois, Louis K. Javois, Jr., Karlen L. Javois and Kevin F. Javois and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was very loved by all, even her extended family, her patients, the staff at her job and her grandson’s school. Karen always worked in the medical field as she always cared for people. She was a very sociable individual that knew how to handle people of all personalities.
She has been an inspiration to all to be kind, sweet and to strive to be better in life, because of her big heart she always worried about others more than herself. She touched a lot of hearts for those around her and always started the day with a smile and hot chocolate.
“If Roses Grow in Heaven” – Dolores M. Garcia
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
A visitation for Karen will be held Monday, July 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N Elm St, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401, followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00 PM.
