Kathryn (Katie) Isabella Hooper passed away December 24, 2022 from complications following a stroke. She was born on September 23, 2010 and she, and her siblings, were adopted in 2016 by her loving parents Jerald “Jerry” Hooper and Jennifer Beth Mazer, her mother, who pre-deceased her on February 1, 2022.
She was known by all of her family, friends and teachers for her zest for life and the sweetness that always came from within her heart. Katie loved to play card games and was most often the winner. She could play UNO for hours on end if allowed to do so. Katie also loved to swim and especially loved to cook with the dream of becoming a chef when she grew up.
Katie had a delightful laugh and never met anyone who wasn’t captured by her charming personality. She always seemed to manage to put a smile on everyone’s face when they met her. She was a lover of unicorns and cats and enjoyed reading as well as spending as much time with her family and friends as she could.
Katie is survived by her father, Jerry Hooper, her twin brother Kayden and younger sister Gracie. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Barbara Hampton and Thelma Hooper, aunt, Sarah Zink and uncle Richard Zink, cousins Eli and Abram Zink, and aunt Jana Hooper. A celebration of Katie’s life will be held on January 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina with a reception to follow.
