Ken was born on April 19, 1971, in Atlanta, Georgia to Kenneth Gene and Patricia Ellen Cox. His family moved to Greensboro in 1973 where he completed his public-school education. He was the owner of KMC Landscaping and loved the outdoors. He had a great love for cats and dogs, and he cared for and fed those in need.
He found great peace in kayaking, daring to ride turbulent rapids or calm rivers. He sent the following text to a friend in August of 2020. “Whether on flatwater or surfing a standing wave in a creek boat, it’s meditation. Time slows or stands still. To be completely in the micro moment or moments is the reward.”
He is survived by his mother, Pat; his brother, Steve; and his loyal cat, “Little Man”.
There will be a casual dress visitation on Saturday, June 10, 2023, between 2:00 and 4:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall of West Market United Methodist Church on the corner of West Friendly Avenue and Commerce Place. The physical address of the church is 302 West Market Street.
Memorials may be made to West Market Church, Ministers Emerging Needs Fund, PO Box 870, Greensboro, NC 27402-0870.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.haneslineberryfhnorthelm.com for the Cox family.
