Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Vanstory Chapel. Interment will follow at Burnett’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Newman was a native of Guilford County and retired employee with 51 years of service at Oakdale Cotton Mill in Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Lessie Ruth Newman, two other sisters, Arrettia Hennis and Altia Hunt and two brothers, Floyd and Willard Newman all of Greensboro.
Surviving are two nieces, Peggie McCuiston and Stella Hennis of Greensboro, two nephews, Coy W. Hennis of Greensboro and Harold Hunt of Colfax. Also, a very special friend and caregiver, Roy Duncan of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
