

Linda K. Stansbury passed away on Thanksgiving Day, 2013. She was born on August 4, 1949 in El Paso, TX, the daughter of Lt Col. James and Mildred Stansbury. He father’s military career carried her across the US and overseas, including two years in Japan and three years in Germany.
Linda was an accomplished illustrator and artist and carried her creativity and passion into all areas of her life. Her mother was an accomplished artist and used this time of foreign travel to expose Linda to the fine art of the Far East and Europe. The family settled in Prince George, VA where she graduated from Prince George High School. She was a cheerleader and member of the swim team. Her artistic career spanned over 30 years, not only as an accomplished illustrator, but also furniture design; TV and radio advertising and worked with several leading department stores in Florida, Virginia and North Carolina. She was a lover of animals and people. She fought a 15 year battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), beating the odds for survival by almost a decade.
Linda is survived by her son, Jeffrey Miller and wife Jennifer of Bremerton, WA and their two children, Sally and Henry; brother, James E. Stansbury III and wife Barbara of Waverly, VA; niece , Cristal Crosby and husband Blake and their three sons; two aunts, cousins, and close friends.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7th, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
