A graveside service of interment for the cremains of Colena and Lonnie Richardson will take place at Den Hill Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. A luncheon reception will follow.
Married 62 years, Colena and Lonnie did ministry together - Lonnie as the Calvinist pastor and Colena as the preacher’s wife. They served four congregations in GA, NC, and VA over more than 30 years before serving multiple SC congregations in retirement.
Colena and Lonnie delighted in their family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are survived by their three sons and their spouses: Joseph and PokCha Richardson of Asheboro, NC; Timothy Richardson and Malcolm Singletary of Pittsboro, NC; Alex Richardson and Ray Wurzburger of Riner, VA. Surviving grandchildren and their spouses are Jessica and Spencer Clayton of Pittsboro, NC; Spencer Richardson of Nashville, TN; and Sunshine and Karl Gaukstern of Salisbury, NC. Surviving great-grandchildren are Juliana and Josephine Gaukstern; the soon-to-arrive Clayton baby.
Memorial gifts may be made either to WRJQ radio (Lonnie's favorite radio station - it plays only polkas) or a charity of your choice.
