Lou grew up in East Haven, CT with his brother Paul, playing baseball and cards with his cousins and neighborhood friends. He attended East Haven High School (class of 1970), where he was a member of the school’s swim team and played trumpet in the band. While in high school he developed lifelong friendships and met his future wife Diane Josephson. Lou and Diane married on July 12, 1974.
After moving to Warwick, Rhode Island in 1979, he attended Roger Williams University graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was a lifelong learner, with a passion for history, music, art and sports which he shared with his 3 sons. He enjoyed travelling, spending time with family during holidays and vacations and riding his Harley Davidson. He touched many with his infectious laugh and smile.
Lou was a hardworking man of strong character, committed to supporting colleagues. In 1991 while working with VF Corporation, Lou and Diane moved to Greensboro, NC and built a home where they raised their family. The proud son of a World War II veteran, he enjoyed the final years of his career working closely with the US Maine Corp as a Director with New Breed Logistics.
