

Mrs. Maie Ray Suits, 92, a resident of Greensboro died on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at Ashton Place in McLeansville. She was born May 9, 1922 in the Silk Hope community of Chatham County the daughter of William Oscar and Cornie Brown Ray.
Maie worked for many years in the laundry services in Greensboro with Columbia, Fordham’s and the Baby Diaper Service. She was an active member of Church Street Baptist Church until her health began to decline.
Maie was married to Carey Elmore Suits who preceded her in death in 1967. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Charles William Caudle; two sisters, Mozelle R. Self, Mildred R. Fields and her brothers, Reid, Barney and Jay Van Ray.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Linda S. Caudle (David, deceased) of Greensboro, Mrs. Nancy S. Smith (Keivin) of Greensboro; one son, Wayne Suits (Raynell) of Pleasant Garden; one sister, Margie R. Smith of McLeansville; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel with Reverend Tyler Gaulden and Reverend Douglas Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
