

Margaret "Peggy" Welch Lambeth, 76, died October 20, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital after a short illness. Peggy, as she was known by her adoring family and many friends, was preceded in death by her husband, David Thomas Lambeth and daughter-in-law Susan Hoke Lambeth and her parents, Arthur and Frances Handy Welch.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 North Greene Street, Greensboro, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2pm. Peggy’s family will welcome guests at a reception to be held in the Haywood Duke Room at the church immediately following Peggy’s inurnment in the church columbarium. Her family will also receive visitors in her home.
Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and successful businesswoman. She co-founded Indoor Plantscaping, Inc. in 1972 with her sister-in-law, Ann Duke. The business, which Peggy described as a “happy” one, was once the largest of its kind in North Carolina. The company supplied and maintained living foliage plants to commercial businesses. As a member of ALCA or Associated Landscape Contractors of America, Peggy was instrumental in designing a national training seminar for plant care professionals. Peggy was active with The Preservation Society of Greensboro and a former Chairwoman of Greensboro’s Fun Fourth Celebration. In 2008, Peggy was recognized as a Master Gardener. Peggy was a member of the Junior League of Greensboro and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she lovingly served on the Vestry, Altar Guild and in various other capacities. She graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and Women’s College (now UNCG).
Mrs. Lambeth is survived by her four loving sons, David Thomas Lambeth Jr., Arthur Welch Lambeth (Elizabeth Louise Humphrey), Walter Crawford Lambeth, Paul Timothy Lambeth II, four grandsons, David, Steven, Tanner, Oliver, her sister and brother-in-law Fran and Bob Beare, nieces Penny, Frances, Martha, Virginia and Shannon.

Peggy was dearly loved and will be missed by many, a testament to all of the lives she touched.
