

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Alamance Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
She was retired from the US Postal Service. In her youth, LuLu enjoyed playing softball, cards and bowling. She was a history buff and especially studied World War II. She also liked hummingbirds and watching westerns.
LuLu was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Eugene and Rose Johnson Jobe; brothers, Roy Eugene Jobe, Jr. and Harvey Green Jobe; sister, Mildred Jobe Tickle; and her husband of fifty years, Ruffin Alexander McCollum.
Mrs. McCollum is survived by her step-daughter, Patricia McCollum Walters of Greensboro; step-son, Charles Edward McCollum and wife JoAnne of Georgia; grandchildren, Tamara D. Moreno (Mario), Natasha Craig (Jerry), Charles Edward McCollum Jr., Joseph Alex McCollum, and Larri M. Riley (Dennis); eleven great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren including a special bond with Zachary Carter, Adam Walters and great granddaughter and caregiver, Miranda Carter (David).
