Mary "Polly" M. Lindley

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Kyle Green officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Polly was born in Burlington, NC to the late William H. and Mary Rosa Mitchell McClure. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years with Greensboro Awning Company. She was a member of Glenwood Friends. She was an avid fisherwoman, who loved the beach. Polly was an excellent gardener, fabulous cook and loved to feed everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Harry Edwin Lindley; grandson, Walter Brent Helm; grandson-in-law, Richard Tussey; and brothers, Mitchell Lane McClure, Richard Earl McClure, Carlisle McClure, Herbert McClure and Jay Vann McClure.

Polly is survived by her daughters, Camille Lindley Hayes of Southport, NC and Deborah Evonne Lindley of Greensboro; grandchildren, Sherry Aylease Wilson and husband Bob, Kimberly Dai Tussey; great grandchildren, Aron Tussey, Abigail Faith Wilson and Ariana Gabrielle Scudder.

Memorials may be made to Glenwood Friends, 2400 Old Chapman Street, Greensboro, NC 27403 in memory of Mary “Polly” Aylease McClure Lindley.
