Matthew Caso, Jr., 85, of High Point, NC passed away peacefully on December 21, 2014, at Pennybyrn Hughes House. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; his sons Matthew III and his wife Christi, of Jamestown; Robert, his wife, Kathy and granddaughter, Jessica of Jamestown and his sister, Lee Mastroianni of Eastchester, NY. He is preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Caso.
Matthew Caso was born on May 15, 1929 in New Rochelle, NY to parents Matthew and Mary Caso. He worked for Lorillard Tobacco, retiring after 42 years as director of order services.
He truly enjoyed his life and making friends with all he met. His family and friends will always remember him as a warm and friendly outgoing person and a joy to all who knew him.
His early love of jazz and music led him to pursue a successful semi-professional career as a drummer who played in several local musical groups.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Pennybyrn Chapel. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Matt’s life. The family would like to thank the staff at Pennybyrn Hughes House for taking such excellent care of Matt.
