A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of Samuel Hugh Gourley, Sr. and Joyce Faye Pyron-Burris.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one daughter, Maybree Leeann Poole of Greensboro, N.C. and her brother, Samuel Hugh Gourley, Jr. of Greensboro, N.C. and many aunts and uncles.
Melinda Horne was a very loving mother and a wonderful sister. She grew up in a home with much love and laughter. She enjoyed many fun times with family and friends. Her life was filled with many friends and adventures. She had a strong faith in the Lord.
There will be a visitation at 12:00pm to 2:00pm and the service at 2:00pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services of Greensboro. The Burial Service will follow the service at the Lakeview Memorial Park.
