

Ruby Merline (Hice) Wyrick-Davis 92, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. Merline was born on April 18, 1932, in Burke County, NC to the late Henry Hice and Bertie Speagle Hice. Her career began with Bank of America (formerly NCNB), with 16 years of service working in the Consumer Credit Department/ Collections, Stocks and Bonds. Merline was a pioneer in developing policies and procedures for the bank and was a founding member of the Greensboro Credit Women International Chapter serving as President (1969-1970). In addition she wrote articles for the Dixie Council “Consumer Education” magazine.
Merline furthered her education in the 80’s obtaining her CNA License and working as a private duty caregiver. She volunteered for Hospice Inpatient at Moses Cone Hospital and finished her career working as a Secretary for Bowman Gray School of Medicine. She was a member of Northwest Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters; Barbara Holleman (Marshall) and Deborah Coble. Grandchildren; Todd Holleman, Linda Perkins(Tim), Paul Whiteside(Amber) and two great-grandchildren; Zach Perkins and Spencer Perkins. Merline is the seventh daughter of fifteen children, her surviving siblings are Norma Jean Honeycutt, Richard Hice, Wanda Andrews(Roland) and Larry Hice; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, 2:00pm at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
