

Michelina J. (Murgo) Gentile, 97 a resident of Greensboro, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Mikki , as she was known, was born in Tuckahoe, NY to the late Domenic and Maria Murgo of Foggia, Italy. The Murgo family moved to Worcester, MA, where Mikki grew up in a family that included seven sisters, Lea, Ginger, Mary, Josey, Jenny, Angie, Susie and one brother, Anthony. She married Michael P. Gentile in 1939 and lived in Worcester until 1974 when, she and her husband retired to Orlando Florida where they spent many wonderful years visiting “the happiest place on earth”, Disney World. In 1997, Mikki moved to North Carolina where her son, Peter resides. Mikki was a homemaker.
Mikki is survived by her husband, of seventy-three years, Michael Gentile; her son Peter and his wife, Donna of Greensboro; two sisters Ginger Rinaldi and Mary DiSilvestro and one brother, Anthony Murgo all of Worcester, MA, two grandsons, Nick Gentile and his wife Dawn of Ashburn, VA and Brian Gentile and his wife Drea of Wake Forest, NC, four great grand children, Jackson, Holland, Ty, and Merritt as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 25th at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home on 515 North Elm St. Greensboro, NC. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor Anthony Marcaccio at 11:00 AM, St Pius the Tenth Catholic Church, 2210 North Elm St. Greensboro, with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 High Point Rd. Greensboro.
