
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The Reverend Virginia Herring, Assistant Rector and The Reverend Doctor William Ortt of Christ Church, Easton, MD will officiate. The family will visit with friends and family at a reception after the service.
Milton was born January 19, 1925 in Swan Quarter, NC. He attended Swan Quarter schools and Presbyterian Junior College. Milton was a WWII and Korean War Veteran. He was an auditor and safety inspector; and, was a founding member of “Great Issues Coffee Group” for over 50 years. He excelled in his knowledge of history and big band music. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, writing to the editor plus telling stories and performing card tricks for his many nieces and nephews.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Robbie Milton and Victoria Dunbar Harris, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glade Sears Harris and daughter, Susan Ortt and her husband Bill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 607 N. Greene St. Greensboro, NC 27401 or Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro.
