She was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in North Carolina. Bootsie was married to Harold Gutterman for 49 wonderful years. They lived in High Point where she and Harold raised their three children. In 1969, the family moved to Greensboro. For many years they spent time between their home in Florida and Greensboro. Bootsie loved to travel, read, watch old movies, and bake. Most of all she loved and adored her children and grandchildren.
After the death of her husband, Bootsie returned to Greensboro full time. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, attending the opera, being a member of Beth David Synagogue, and spending time with her family.
She leaves behind her three children, Arlene Gutterman and partner Kate Panzer, Toby Streetman and husband Michael, David Gutterman and wife Susan; her grandchildren, Gabe Fonorow, Danny Fonorow and wife Amanda, Hannah, Zachary, and Dahlia Gutterman, and Rebecca and Anna Streetman; her two sisters, Zelda and husband George Breslow of Greensboro and Harriet Gardner of Florida; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bernie and Nancy Gutterman of Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Beth David Synagogue with Rabbi Eliezer Havivi officiating. Burial will follow at the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jewish Foundation of Greensboro, 5509 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27410 or the Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 West Lee Street, Greensboro, NC 27406 in Bootsie’s memory.
