Mirta G. Heffner

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at First Lutheran Church at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery in Greensboro.

Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia on June 20, 1940 to the late Augustin and Matilde Aragon Garcia, Mirta attended First Lutheran Church in Greensboro and was still a member of Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in music from Shelton College and later attended The Bethlehem Conservatory of Music. Mirta was well versed in both piano and violin. She worked as an Export Documentation Specialist and Translator for Mallakrodt Baker Incorporated in Phillipsburg, NJ. In addition, Mirta belonged to The French Alliance, The American Chemical Society, and Christian Outreach in the Latino Community. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Erasto Garcia and a sister, Miriam Mora.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 49 years, Herbert E. Heffner; son, Fred Heffner and his wife Adriene; granddaughter, Jessica Heffner; sister, Daisy Bittner; brother, Edgar Garcia; niece, Ann Elizabeth Evans; and other extended family and friends.
