Norris Eugene Penry

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015, at Shining Light Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas Satterfield and Rev. Rick Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Norris was born January 25, 1933, in Durham, NC to the late Robah Harold and Margaret Joyce Penry. He was the owner of Penry Installations and a long standing member of Shining Light Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Penry was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence and Harold Penry and his sister, Margaret. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ida Eugenia Penry; daughters, Diana Shoemaker, Bonnie Kays (Chris), Andrea Mills; grandchildren, Michael (Amy), David (Megan), Stephen, Stephanie Shoemaker; four great grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Penry (Jean), Norman Penry (Bertha) and his sisters, Mary Reece and Betty Ruth Gingrich. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 3 at Shining Light Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Norris’s name to Shining Light Baptist Church, 4530 West Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27409.
