Richard “Rich” Hyatt passed away at Hospice Home at High Point after a 15-month battle with brain cancer. He was a long-time manager at Bravo Restaurant in Friendly Center. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Rich loved all Pittsburgh sports teams, although they often let him down. He was also a Penn State fan and looked forward to college football season. Rich loved the beach, gardening, the farmer’s market, baseball, and grilling. Attending spring training games and awaiting fresh produce, especially peaches, strawberries, and Cherokee purple tomatoes, was something he anticipated each winter. He loved being in the kitchen and his family enjoyed his baby back ribs and homemade bread. Rich is survived by his sister Jan (Andy) of Greensboro, brothers Don of Zephyrhills, FL and Bill (Kim) of Pittsburgh, PA, niece and nephew Amy and Brian Beckham and nephews Matt, Connor, and Ryan Hyatt.
The family would like to thank Hospice Home at High Point for their care and compassion. Donations in Rich’s memory may be made to Hospice Home at High Point (www.hospiceofthepiedmont.org).
