

Robert graduated High School from McCallie, undergraduate college from Rhodes College and went on to get his Masters in Business Administration from Georgia State University
Before moving to Greensboro he lived in Black Mountain where he was a member and past president of the Black Mountain Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He also was a past president of the Black Mountain Chamber of Commerce and member of the Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday school and served as a Deacon and Elder. He was CO-President of Mountain Retreat Association. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp where he was an F-4 Fighter Pilot.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeannie McKay Glasgow.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Miller Glasgow; daughter, Lisa Glasgow Newman and husband Jimmy; sons, George Michael Glasgow and wife Alison, Robert Glasgow III and wife Alicia, Kevin Glasgow and fiance’ April Miller; sister, Lois Canady and husband Gary and grandchildren, Matthew, Aaron and Zachary Newman, Taylor and Tanner Glasgow and Bailey, Paige and Tripp Glasgow.
A Service to Celebrate Robert’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 6, 2018 at Adams Farm Community Church, 5113 MacKay Rd., Jamestown, NC 27282 conducted by Pastor Brian Howard. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Robert’s memory to Montreat Wilderness Fund, Montreat Conference Center PO Box 969 Montreat, NC 28757 or to Adams Farm Community Church.
