Robert "Barney" Stout, 86, of Colfax, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Robert was born on February 15, 1938, in Caldwell, County, NC, the son of the late Raleigh Stout and Nellie Lovins Stout.Robert worked for Gilbarco for forty-six years in Product Development and was an avid fisherman enjoying deep sea fishing as well as fly fishing on smaller lakes and ponds. Robert loved Carolina Tar Heels basketball, Stock Car Racing and watching Western movies and shows. He enjoyed spending time outdoors working in the garden and doing lawn care.
He is survived by his four children; Robin Parson, Raleigh Stout, Butch Stout and Rhonda Brocklebank, sister's Nancy Bentley, Judy Stout, Linda Romano and brother Butch Stout (Carol), five grandchildren; Steven Melton, Charlie Stout, Jessica Stout, Sarah Thibodaux, Brandon Parson and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held 12:00pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel prior to the service.
