

Rosita Lynn Tytell, formerly of Warwick, New York,passed away Sunday, September 22 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. after an extended illness. Born on June 27, 1954, she was the daughter of Robert and Rita Draper. Rosita graduated from Liberty High and Elmira College receiving a B.A, majoring in Early Childhood Education. She worked for several years at the Warwick Day Care Center.
She married Lon William Tytell on Sunday,August 28,1983. They recently celebrated 36 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to her son, Joshua who she fostered and then adopted with her husband,Lon. Rosita typed and edited her husband Lon' stories which he wrote for the Warwick Valley Dispatch. She even helped her husband Lon with the marking of the papers he brought home from teaching fourth and second grade.
She enjoyed volunteering in Warwick. Rosita sang in the chorus for three musicals which raised money for St. Anthony Hospital in Warwick. She also sang in a variety show that raised money to light the track at the Warwick Valley High School. She walked in two Walkathons that raised money for the Warwick Community Center, St Anthony Hospital and the Warwick Jaycees. She even performed in a kitchen band using kitchen utensils, pot and pans with her husband, Lon to raise money for Cerebral Palsy in a Telethon. She also volunteered for over 30 years helping kids from lower income families purchase a full set of clothing for themselves and select items to take home for the members of their family.
Her brother Charles said" My sister had a big heart and a big smile and was one of the kindest people I had ever known. She always put on a brave face through all her setbacks, pain, and suffering."
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, 5:30 p.m. at Temple Emanuel with Rabbi Andy Koren officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rosita's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. 301 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
